Campaigning for Better Healthcare

Last night, MPs voted on legislation to give the government new powers to tackle youth vaping.

It is fantastic news that One NK has received a further £165,713 of investment, bringing their total to £245,513 from the Swimming Pool Support Fund!

Having raised provision for NHS dental services in Lincolnshire in Parliament and directly in meetings with Ministers, I welcome the Government’s new NHS Dental Recovery Plan, delivering 2.5 million additional NHS dental appointments over the next year to help people get the care they need.

Great news that local sports facilities are receiving funding through the Multi-Sport Grassroots Facilities Programme. Those who have applied and are receiving funding for new goalposts include:

Within the Health and Social Care Committee's recent session with the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, I was pleased to hear the Secretary of State's recognition of the concerns surrounding the risks of teen vaping.

The government has launched a public consultation to ask your views on youth vaping as part of measures to clamp down on vapes being promoted to children.

I held a Westminster Hall Debate in Parliament where I highlighted some shocking recent statistics and experiences of children vaping.

The Health and Social Care Committee have held a topical session about youth vaping. Witnesses giving evidence in Parliament included Laranya Caslin, Headteacher of St George’s Academy in Sleaford, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and representatives from the industry.
