Anglian Water have contacted me with confirmation of works they will be carrying out in Wellingore from 18 May. Please see the below details for affected residents:
What are the works?
We are investing £585,000 to install around 3km of new water mains in Wellingore, along The Heath and Gorse Hill Lane. This work will help to reduce the risk of bursts, cut leaks and keep water supplies reliable for decades to come. If everything goes smoothly, we expect the work to be completed by August, although as with any engineering project, there is a chance of unforeseen delays.
What traffic management will we need?
We know roadworks can be disruptive and that’s why we always work closely with the local authority to agree the safest way to complete our work. Due to the narrow nature of some roads along the route, we will need to introduce some temporary road closures and traffic management to keep our teams and the public safe while we install the new pipe.
The current plan includes:
• The Heath: road closure from 21 May to 1 June
• The Heath: traffic lights/road closure from 2 June to 3 June
• The Heath and High Dike: road closure from 4 June to 21 June
• The Heath (off Pottergate): road closure from 22 June to 2 July
• Gorse Hill Lane: road closure from 3 July to 7 August
These dates may change as work progresses, and the latest information will be available on our website. The website also includes further details about the road closures and diversion routes. Residents within closures will still be able to access their homes, although there may occasionally be short waits while it is safe for vehicles to pass.
We’re working to keep the local community informed and would like to thank residents in advance for their patience and understanding while we complete this important upgrade. Customers’ water and sewerage services shouldn’t be affected, but if we do need to temporarily interrupt supplies, we will provide advance notice.
