It’s good news that the Government has confirmed the £110 million funding already committed to by the previous Conservative Government for the North Hykeham Relief Road.
The money has been committed to in the Government accounts since 2019, and I welcome that the Roads Minister has recognised the significant work undertaken by Lincolnshire County Council since then. This has included the planning, consultation, acquisitions and tendering processes. It’s good to see that the council can finish delivering the project which will make a positive impact locally.
The NHRR will deliver a massive boost to North Hykeham and the wider area - bringing huge economic benefits and easing congestion.
This project has been a long-standing priority for our area, and today’s announcement brings much-needed certainty for residents and stakeholders.
