In May 2024, the previous Government confirmed that Sleaford railway station would be included on a list of stations for early development in the Access for All scheme. This scheme provides accessibility improvements at stations through a range of measures - including lift installations.
Before the Summer, I pressed the Secretary of State in the House of Commons for action on the feasibility works for this scheme. In August, she wrote to me to confirm these had been completed and that we would hear about Sleaford's bid soon.
Over 3 months have passed, and we have not heard from the Department about whether they will give the green light to improving accessibility at Sleaford station.
Following my previous campaigning on this issue and after the Government's announcement last week that they will be reforming the Access for All scheme, I have written to the Secretary of State to press her to provide an update on the plans at Sleaford as soon as possible.
