I have jointly signed a letter to the Prime Minister from 30 Parliamentarians calling for the protection of our Best and Most Versatile (BMV) agricultural land from large-scale solar farm development.
I urge the Government to listen to the concerns I, my colleagues and our constituents continue to raise about the devastating impact of ground-mounted solar on British food production and rural communities.
We must prioritise rooftop and brownfield solar, recognise cumulative effects and prohibit large-scale solar development on higher-quality land.
