An honour to join Charlie White, Chair of the Bomber County Gateway Trust, and the whole team to see the Lancaster Bomber installed at Norton Disney, near to the A46 and county border this weekend.
The installation pays tribute to all Bomber Command crews and those who served at airfields in the area during the Second World War. It is also particularly poignant as it remembers those who died in a Lancaster crash near to the site in 1942, and the sculpture contains individual commemorative plaques for each member of the crew who was sadly killed in the crash.
Thank you to everyone involved in this project for all your hard work and dedication - the sculpture looks fantastic and will be enjoyed by all who travel past it!
