I have recently been surveying constituents in villages serviced by the local trains to ask for your thoughts on current services.
I received a high volume of responses and I was pleased to highlight your views with East Midlands Railway as they are currently developing some timetable changes for December 2025. I raised with EMR how constituents told me they'd like to see some improvements to the train services, including:
- more carriages on weekends and for sporting events/ travel to the coast
- more regular departures for the Lincoln-Peterborough line - including on weekends
- improved Sunday services
- later evening departures from Lincoln
- improved timetabling for trains calling at Rauceby
EMR have taken these views on board, and confirmed they will be writing to me with an update on how they may be able to incorporate these suggestions into their timetable work ahead of December. I was pleased that they were clear on maintaining the progress we have made to morning services in recent years for pupils travelling to the schools in Sleaford.
