Criticising the Government's Approach to Tackling Grooming Gangs

In January, the Government said they would conduct local inquiries into grooming and rape gangs. Three months on, they have now confirmed they will adopt a "flexible approach" - watering down their original commitments.

The Conservative Opposition have called for a national inquiry.

I questioned why the Government believe an 'opt-in' process would work, when it would leave councils to decide whether they want to be investigated or not. 

The Government must ensure that anyone who abuses vulnerable children faces the full force of the law.
