The Government said they would compensate schools for the National Insurance tax rise. Yet schools in my constituency, like Sir Robert Pattinson Academy, have told me that they will be massively short-changed by the funding the Government are giving them to cover the extra staffing costs.
Schools across the country are raising concerns about the large amounts of money they will now need to find to fund the Chancellor's tax on jobs, adding unjustified pressures to our school system.
I have today urged the Chancellor to rethink her unfair funding formulas, which will have a detrimental impact on our local schools. I am pleased that the Chancellor has agreed to look at the concerns I have raised about Sir Robert Pattinson Academy in particular and I will be pressing the matter further with Ministers.
