I'm delighted to have won £3,000 for our local Lincolnshire Scouts through the 2026 Duolingo Language Challenge!
The competition provided the opportunity for MPs to win money for charity by learning a new language. I took up Italian this year and came second overall in the league table, meaning I was able to donate this prize money to the group to promote languages.
Thank you to Eli, Jack, Georgia and Dawn from Lincolnshire Scouts for joining me in Westminster. It was a pleasure to give you a tour of the Houses of Parliament and talk to you about language learning. I am pleased that this money can be used by the Scouts for language learning and international adventures such as the World Scout Jamboree which will be attended by Scouts from across the globe.
