Sleaford Railway Station Accessibility Update:
Just to update you on the work I am doing to advocate for accessibility improvements at Sleaford station. Last month, I wrote to the Transport Secretary about the importance of improvements at the station and to request an update about our progress in the Access for All scheme.
I have now received the below response from the Minister for Rail. It is disappointing that, since being selected for early development work through the Access for All scheme by the previous Government in 2024 and following completion of the feasibility work, we still do not have further information about Sleaford's bid. I am pleased, however, that the Government's recent announcement about reforms to the scheme will not impact stations in the programme.
As well as the letter, I have also pressed the point with the Transport Secretary directly this week. I will continue to follow up Sleaford's bid with the Government and advocate for accessibility improvements to be brought in at the station.
