Today I spoke at the Open Floor Hearing for the Beacon Fen Solar Farm and expressed my strong opposition to the application.
I highlighted the concerns that my constituents and I share about this proposal, including its sheer size, the impact on the community and the loss of good agricultural land.
I also raised the cumulative impact when considering other mega solar farm applications in North Kesteven plus the South Lincolnshire Reservoir application and the Heckington Fen Solar Farm, which was approved by this Government and is incredibly close to the Beacon Fen proposal.
Earlier this year, I also spoke at the Springwell Solar Farm Open Hearing, and I will continue to express my opposition to all large-scale solar farm applications in our area.
