Houses of Parliament

It has been a busy start to the week in Westminster! This week so far I have:

💼 met with the Chancellor to discuss how the Government can help protect constituents from rising energy bills and support businesses in Sleaford and North Hykeham

📚 spoken with the Secretary of State for Education about the importance of producing good guidelines in schools to protect transgender pupils while also being mindful of other children in single-sex spaces

👑 taken part in the debate on the Queen's Speech to highlight the key priorities for my constituents as we head into the new parliamentary year

📦 met with Amazon to discuss how their business model is supporting new, innovative start ups

✅ spoken in the debate about the removal of foreign criminals to ask the Minister to ensure that removal processes begin when offenders are in prison

👉 sat on the Delegated Legislation Committee to consider the draft Alternative Finance Order 2022 looking at Islamic finance products
