Backing Local Businesses in Sleaford and North Hykeham

This morning I visited the Royal Mail Delivery Office in Sleaford to meet our local posties and thank them for all their hard work over the last year and in the busy run up to Christmas.

This year, I am counting down to Christmas by celebrating 24 great independent businesses in the constituency of Sleaford and North Hykeham!

I am delighted that three organisations within my constituency have received a total of £75,000 from the latest awards announced as part of the Government's Culture Recovery Fund.

This weekend I celebrated #SmallBusinessSaturday by visiting some of our excellent independent shops in Sleaford. We have a number of very good family-run small independent shops with lots of quality items to choose from and I was able to get something special for every member of my family.

Fantastic news announced today that the Government's £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund will benefit three excellent local heritage organisations as part of our massive rescue package to save jobs, support culture and aid recovery.

The International Bomber Command Centre is an important learning centre about the role played by countless men and women across Lincolnshire in our nation's defence efforts during the Second World War. It's also the UK's tallest war memorial, with its 31-metre tall memorial spire.

I visited beautiful Heckington Windmill to discuss proposals currently under consideration by the Government to fortify flour with folic acid, as I'm aware that this poses a challenge for traditional heritage windmills.
