Improving Our Local Transport Infrastructure

Some time ago, I was approached by Winchelsea Primary School in Ruskington regarding road safety concerns on the B1188.

It is great news that major improvement works carried out by Lincolnshire County Council and partners at Holdingham Roundabout are now complete and that the roundabout has fully reopened!

It was great to meet with Cllr Thomas Dyer this morning to discuss local road improvements being made by Lincolnshire County Council in North Hykeham and areas of Waddington within my constituency.

I am aware of constituents' concerns regarding the new arrival time of the service into Sleaford at 0852 and its effects on commuters and pupils who attend Carre's Grammar School, Kesteven & Sleaford High School and St George’s Academy.

I welcome the news that Lincolnshire has received investment from Midlands Connect to develop a business case to look at improvements for the A17 corridor around Heckington.

I had a meeting with Laura Etheridge, Stakeholder Manager, and Craig Leaper, Head of Train Planning and Access, at East Midlands Railway to discuss timetabling issues.

With many new homes to be added in the Canwick/Washingborough/Heighington area as part of the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan by 2036, including 3500 in the next 15 years, I believe improvements to the transport infrastructure locally needs to be a priority to support this housing expansion, and

I brought together representatives from Lincolnshire County Council and Highways England to run through concerns I have relating to local roads.
