Campaigning for Better Healthcare

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Derek Laird, Chief Executive of Thames Ambulance Service Limited (TASL), to discuss the importance of the non-emergency transport in the local area.

The Government have announced that they will be investing an additional £8.9 million to urgently give more people access to high quality dental care in the Midlands.

I had a productive meeting with the Vice Chancellor of Lincoln University, Professor Juster today.

As constituents are aware, the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust has, like a number of other Trusts across the country, declared an ‘internal critical incident’ and is facing pressures primarily as a result of high levels of staff absences and challenges in relation to the Omicron variant.

It is great news that the Department of Health and Social Care has announced significant investment in Lincolnshire hospitals which my constituents in Sleaford and North Hykeham rely on.

Today, I raised my constituents' difficulties in accessing NHS dental services with the Prime Minister in PMQs, and asked him for support with my campaign for a Lincolnshire dental school.

I had a productive meeting with the Minister for Patient Safety and Primary Care, Maria Caulfield yesterday.

I had the pleasure of chairing the Westminster Health Forum this week which focussed on the next steps for improving child health including integrated service delivery, priorities for mental health, and tackling health inequalities.

Yesterday evening, I held an adjournment debate on NHS Dentistry in Lincolnshire. Difficulties in accessing NHS dental services is common in my constituency of Sleaford and North Hykeham, and across our rural county.

Having listened to many constituents' concerns about access to local NHS dental services, I have secured an adjournment debate next Wednesday (20th October) to raise this issue in the Commons.
