Improving Our Local Transport Infrastructure

Many constituents have contacted me regarding the condition of Ermine Street, Ancaster. I have therefore pressed Lincolnshire County Council for an update on when works on improving the road will begin.

I recently held a constituency meeting with Silk Willoughby Parish Council who expressed their concerns regarding the amount of HGV traffic passing through the village and the subsequent noise disturbance this causes for residents living on London Road.

I am delighted that the Chancellor has just now confirmed that the North Hykeham Relief Road has been identified as a priority major infrastructure project to be accelerated as fast as possible.

Last week I enjoyed answering a wide range of questions from local parish councils both in the Metheringham Rural and Bassingham and Welbourn Divisions.

I am delighted to have been informed that works are due to start w/c 2nd August for approximately three weeks to install a zebra crossing over the B1188 near Winchelsea Primary School.

Further to my post on 6th January, I have been informed that the work on the zebra crossing at Ruskington B1188 Rectory Road has been delayed to later in 2022. I understand that the reason for the delay is that some of the equipment was not available for the planned start date in April.

I recently met again with Minister Wendy Morton, Minister of State in the Department for Transport, and East Midlands Railway to continue to press for any possible adjustments to the 0852 morning train into Sleaford so that constituents can arrive at a suitable time for their school and work comm

I am delighted that Lincolnshire County Council has approved the next steps to design and build the North Hykeham Relief Road and has appointed Balfour Beatty as the official contractors.

Yesterday morning I met with East Midlands Rail, Network Rail and local stakeholders to discuss identifying Sleaford Train Station as a priority location to bid for accessibility funding.

I understand that many of my constituents are concerned about safety along the A1.
