Improving Our Local Transport Infrastructure

This means that we’re another step closer to improving the flow of traffic for residents in the North Hykeham area - reducing journey times, improving reliability and completing the full ring road around the city.

The Government have announced today that Lincolnshire will receive £262 million as additional funding to transform our roads and local transport infrastructure across the county.

Lincolnshire will receive a share totalling £4,370,000 of the £150 million investment into bus services across the Midlands and the North.

The Prime Minister has announced a range of measures for Sleaford and North Hykeham, Lincolnshire and the wider Midlands area:

- The North Hykeham Relief Road will be expedited

The North Hykeham Relief Road plans have progressed further, with Lincolnshire County Council’s Executive voting unanimously to submit the planning application.

The Government is providing Gonerby Moor Services, Foston Service Station and Toll Bar Service Station in the constituency with grants totalling approximately £464,000 from Round 1 of the HGV Parking and Driver Welfare Match-Funding Grant Scheme.

This week I have written to East Midlands Railway to highlight concerns and questions expressed to me by constituents regarding the proposed closure of the ticket office at Sleaford train station.
